Mark in your planner with the time you have to leave the house, not just the time of the appointment. Always account for traffic.
Make appointments to meet with people early in the day. Your wait is likely to be shorter.
When making appointments, schedule an ending time, so you can move on with the rest of your day.
Confirm appointments with a quick email and you will be less likely to waste time or find out that your friend had forgotten the appointment altogether.
Place a post-it note in your planner, under your scheduled appointment (in the time frame of the appointment). Write down the items you want to discuss and add items as you think of them. When the time arrives, you’ll have everything you need in your planner.
Always have quick, simple tasks with you that can be completed while waiting for an appointment to begin – make a phone call, check your calendar, carry reading material. Of course, there is always facebook!
