Get Organized in 2012 – Week 19

Sometimes you need to work on aesthetics when organizing. This is what I mean – after working so hard to declutter and improve your space, you want it to function better, but also look nice and treat you better. This week we will go back to the kitchen and practice what I am talking about.

Week 19

Day 1. Go through you kitchen towels and pot holders. Are any stained or ragged? Let them go. Be happy to pull out a clean towel – it will make you smile.

Day 2. Check your drinking glasses. Any chipped? Do you have a full set? How many more do you need? Give away all those extras that you never use. Put those fancy glasses up front and use them to feel special, even while drinking a glass of milk!

Day 3. It’s time to look at you plates and bowls. Are they looking a little worse-for-ware? I know mine take a beating. How many do you regularly use? Maybe you can eliminate the chipped pieces and still have enough or maybe it’s time to replace your set.

Day 4. Do you squirrel away plastic silverware? Do you use it? Treat yourself to the real thing and get rid of the plastic.

Day 5. How about all those plastic “give away” cups. Let’s stay with the theme of treating yourself better – get rid of the plastic, use the really thing!

This week is all about quality instead of quantity. Think about how much better you will feel sitting down to dinner, using a un-chipped plate, a “glass” glass and real silverware.
