Manage Your Mail in Ten Minutes

Managing your mail should take no more than ten minutes a day. Here’s how.

Open your mail over a waste basket. Toss out the envelopes and any unwanted junk mail. Move on to the shredder. Shred anything you don’t need that has identifying information on it. Take the items to act on to your desk. Sort things into piles by the action that is required; bills to pay, calls to make, to file, to read, etc. All papers should lie flat in a designated area until you can act on them.

Ten minutes or less. Done.
