Get Organized in 2012 – Week 27

This week we’ll concentrate on the living room. Is it inviting? Do you want to spend time there or invite someone in? By focusing on small organizing tasks in your living room this week, you’ll be able to having someone in by the end of the week.

Week 27

Day 1. Gather all reading material in the living room. Recycle old magazines,  return the library books and donate the finished books there as well. House all the books and magazine that you still want to enjoy in one place (near a comfy chair).

Day 2. Find a home for your remotes. Make it pretty and functional. A big bowl or basket on the coffee table where everyone can find them is ideal.

Day 3. Empty all the furniture so you can sit down. Gather together the paper and pens (pencils, crayons, etc.) Find a home of all these items. Some place where they are available, but easy to put away.

Day 4. Examine your windows and lamps. Lighting can make a big difference in making a space more inviting. Clear away anything that is obstructing the sun from shining in the windows and replace any dead light bulbs.

Day 5. Do you have a corner where things collect? If so, it’s time to tackle it. Ask yourself where each items should be stored and then put it away. Clear the corner to make some empty space.
