An Update from a Yard Sale Project

Last month I traveled to southwest Virginia to check out the 100+ Mile Virginia Yard Sale. I had never been to one of these large/long sales, so I was interested to try it out. Of course, I made a plan before I left.

I also posted about my purchases and today I want to report on one of the projects that I accomplished. I found a photo on Pinterest that I just loved. Here it is.

I love bird houses and am always looking for ways to display them in my yard. So my yard sale search included a ladder to make this project. Here’s what I found.

I gathered all the bird houses that I wanted to display. Some were already outside and some made their way outside. I love it when they sit out and get weathered, but they eventually fall apart, so I am often replacing them. I look forward to watching these get weathered.

We decided on a location. My husband leveled and stabilized the ladder and attached the houses. One thing I wanted to add to the idea from Pinterest was a Clematis that will climb up the side. It will take till next year to see some flowers. I can’t wait. I love them.

This project was quick and simply, and has added a bright pop of color to the yard.

I am starting my next project with a yard sale find this week and will report back soon.
