Thanksgiving is coming, so why wait until the last-minute. Start preparing for the celebration. This week we will focus on some of the spaces that you’ll use over the holidays.
Day 1. Let’s check out the dining room. If you have a formal dining area, how often do you use it? Maybe you process your paperwork at the table, or the kids do their homework. Maybe you are like me and there is dust covering the table. If you want to use this space for your Thanksgiving meal now is the time to start getting ready. On day one just look around and make a list of what can be done in advance.
Day 2. Get started by doing an inventory of your party ware. Is it clean? If not, wash it. Do you need anything new? Get these things ready beforehand.
Day 3. Let’s go into the kitchen and concentrate on your cooking supplies. Again, do you need anything, a roasting pan or pie plate. Make sure you have (or purchase) what you need before the big day looms.
Day 4. It’s time to clear out your entertaining space. Clean off the table. Fond homes for all those displaced items. Dust off the china cabinet. Do whatever you need to proceed to day five.
Day 5. It’s decorating day! Why wait until the last-minute? Decorate now and enjoy it for a little bit longer.
By planning and doing the prep work long before your holiday event you won’t feel so rushed and overwhelmed at the last-minute with these details.
