Wow! The holidays are around the corner. If you have been maintaining a level of organization in your home, you should feel like this holiday thing is doable. You can add a little at time and make a plan to have the type of holidays you want for your family.
As we round the corner to Thanksgiving – and if you are doing the entertaining – you’ll be busy cleaning and cooking this week. Try to fit in these small maintenance tasks (or get a family member to do them for you).
Day 1. Go through your magazine rack. Eliminate anything older than three months. You are going to be busy for the next month or so and won’t have time for much casual reading anyway.
Day 2. Clean off the top of the coffee table. Make it “entertaining ready”. Maybe add some holiday decorations.
Day 3. Declutter a basket or two. You know, all those little things that collect because they have no home of their own. Be brutal. Do you really need it?
Day 4. Clear off the kitchen counter. Make some space to work. Challenge yourself to keep it decluttered for the rest of the week.
Day 5. Now, check out your guest bathroom. Is there anything you can eliminate? Clear away anything unnecessary to make some space.
WooHoo! Much better. Ready to celebrate and be thankful.
