The year is almost over!
If you have been following and decluttering along with me, you probably have some organized spaces in your home that you can be proud of. You are also finding it easier to maintain the order you have created in your home. Congratulations! Maintaining is the key. So this week, let’s talk about maintenance.
Day 1. Check out your family room. It probably needs a little decluttering. The most used spaces in a home usually do. If you have created homes for all the items that live in this space it won’t take long to get organized. Set a timer for 15 minutes and see what you can do in that short amount of time.
Day 2. Have you decorated for Christmas yet. Purge while you are decorating. If you are not going to use some decorations this year, ask yourself “why” and consider whether it’s worth storing them for another year if you aren’t going to use them now.
Day 3. Declutter a drawer – any drawer. It’s a quick and easy project that offers great rewards. Maybe it’s a junk drawer or the place where you store your cooking utensils. Pick a space that is bothering you.
Day 4. Clear off a shelf. Just one! Quick and easy. Find the shelf that has a lot of wayward items and find homes for them. Consider that maybe they don’t deserve a home in your space. That’s OK. Just let them go.
Day 5. Maybe some deep cleaning is in order now. Find a small area that needs attention. Don’t spend all day. Just 15 minutes, but you’ll feel better for it.
Small organizing projects add up to an orderly space where you can relax and enjoy.
